Our People

Owners of Chemwash Waikato, Gavin and wife Gemma live locally with their two sons. They love to be part of the community with Gavin currently president of the Ohaupo Junior Rugby Club and Gemma a regular baker for GBB, and a member of the Junior Rugby Club Committee also.

Gavin has worked for Chemwash for 20 years, starting as a cleaner at the young age of 19, before working his way up and eventually buying the business.

If they aren’t busy running around after the boys, you’ll find Gavin on the golf course with a handicap of 9, or Gemma reading in the sun or out in her vege garden. If you see them around, give them a big hello!

Our History

Chemwash was formed in 1981, bringing a new cleaning technique to the exterior cleaning market. Using non-poisonous and non-toxic detergents to do all of the ‘hard work’, the Chemwash system replaces high pressure water blasting, changing the game completely. Water blasting is still used extensively today by many other cleaning companies, which is a lot more dangerous. With Chemwash however, there is no risk of damaging surfaces.

Developed by a leading industrial chemist, our detergents are totally safe to use around buildings and houses, effective in the selective killing of mould, lichen and moss, while simultaneously cleaning away dirt and grime. Of course, our detergents were also made to be totally safe around people, pets and all general vegetation.
